MIXING PLANTS

The Fayat Group’s production equipment is the fruit of extensive joint research and development work
undertaken by the different research departments.
Both marketing and mass production are adapted to the local constraints and trade practices applicable to
each country.

The materials required for road building are of two kinds: size graded aggregates and binders. Following a
precise protocol and strict quality control, these two fractions are used to produce the finished industrial mix.
The Fayat Group is not involved in production of aggregates. On the other hand it is a world player in the field
of asphalt and road bases
.

Hot-mix or cold-mix production, in continuous or batch mode

Road materials are said to be "cold" if they are not dehydrated by drying and heating. They are said to be "hot"
if they are dehydrated, "warm" if they are dehydrated but not heated above 120/130°C and "halfwarm" if they
are heated up to 80/90°C, and therefore not dehydrated. The criteria considered are qualitative, but also
incorporate
> The energy balance,
> The emission balance (CO2, etc.),
> The ecological balance sheet in the widest sense of the term.

> For gravels used to construct road beds, base courses and stabilised layers, the production process is always
continuous.
> For hot mix asphalt plants, the production mode may be continuous or in batches.
